The Sigma 18-35mm T2 Cine E Mount is a lens designed specifically for cinematography on Super 35 sensor cameras. It offers a constant aperture of T2 throughout the zoom range, industry-standard 0.8M gears, a focus scale marked in feet in luminous easy-to-read paint, and a 180° barrel rotation with 160 zoom rotation and a clickless iris rotation of 60°. This cine lens has no plastic parts it sports an all-metal body with sealed rings and mount, making it splash and dust-proof. The optical performance has the resolving power for high resolution shooting up to 8K and, while not a parfocal lens (stays in focus when magnification/focal length is changed), it offers minimal focal shifting when zooming. The coatings on Sigma's cine line are the same as on their Art series lenses, simplifying color correction when using Sigma lenses from other lines in the same project. The Sigma 18-35mm T2 Cine is ideal for shooters of E mount cameras with Super 35 sensors but it is also suitable for Sony APS-C E mount shooters, including the Sony A7 series when in crop mode.
