Overview

The Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S is part of Nikon's new full frame mirrorless system. To support the optical technologies of this new system, a new mount type Z has been introduced. Z lenses take full advantage of the benefits of a mirrorless design.

The distance between the Z lens' mount and the surface of the Z sensor has been reduced from 46.5mm in the F system to a mere 16mm. Control and Customization

Z lenses provide the unique ability to assign certain shooting functions directly to the lens. An integrated stepping motor (STM) focus drive system exhibits smooth, silent, and ultra-quick AF performance to meet the demands of video shooting.

Optical Versatility

This wide angle prime combines a large maximum aperture with a close focusing distance (down to just 9.84" from your subject), and extreme portability (this lens is under 3.5" long and less than a pound). Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings have been applied to suppress flare, reduce ghosting, and increase color fidelity. A specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control, ensuring even and stable performance when working with fast continuous shooting rates.
